This is the unofficial seal of the city of DeKalb. This is roughly where I grew up, certainly where I went to school, and exactly where I’ll be next week. This was actually DeKalb Ag’s logo. ~~Monsatan~~ Monsanto bought them out, but continued to use the logo because of the reputation and recognition. I worked there for a few years, out in the fields. I have this on a hat, a sweatshirt, and 3 t-shirts. Some people call it the Flying Ear.

Which leads me to the second picture. This was a promo The Good Year Pimps used a long time ago. A handout that ends up on the floor of the bar, where what do you know I also worked for a few years. I first saw this long before I’d worked there, and it took me a long time to track down and couple months to scan. But now it’s here. It makes me happy in so many places.

This isn’t a Christmas song. This is from JE’s first album. An album that included such tracks as “Drum Machine Joy”, “The Electric Joy Toy Company”, “Lily Pad Forest: Our Home”, “Bee Hoping” and “Buttercup Fairy Jamboree”.

Needless to say, Joy Electric is just plain weird. In the best way possible, of course.

I cannot believe I’m seeing Joy Electric on my dashboard. I bought Five Stars For Failure from a Christian bookstore in the mall a million years ago. I used to listen to Lily Pad while playing Simcity for SNES. Oh my goodness.
